Legal Compliance
Research has shown that embedding compliance in routine work practices is the best long-term strategy for compliance. A joint standard AS/NZS 3806 Compliance programmes sets out principles for compliance.
We help clients develop programmes for compliance with much New Zealand legislation.
We also have experience in enforcement of legislation and acting as an expert witness to help demonstrate compliance.
Recent projects include:
- development of a compliance framework with special reference to the Commerce Act and Fair Trading Act
- researching current best practice enforcement policies and procedures for a key regulatory agency
- investigation of failure of a regulatory agency to take account of changes in the legislation it enforced
- demonstration that a risk management framework was in place in a fishing industry client.
