Risk management training and workshops

All our training emphasises that risk is the effect of uncertainty on objectives and helps course participants understand key aspects of risk management.

Our range of training courses are aligned with AS/NZS ISO 31000: 2009 Risk management – Principles and guidelines.

We provide full documentation for our courses including hard copy of the PowerPoint slideshow, a sample risk assessment form and related material.

Download our Training and Workshops Brochure for full details.

All sectors

In May 2009 we ran a series of two-day Risk Management courses for the Institute of Internal Auditors. 100% of participants said the course met objectives, that course handbooks were satisfactory or better, that course content was satisfactory or better and that training aids were satisfactory or better; 92% said the length of the course just right (8% said the course was too short).

We regularly run other one and two-day risk management courses through business partners (click here for details).
Feedback from clients is summarised here.

Public sector

In June 2009, we ran a one day “Risk Management for Policy Analysts” course via the School of Business and Government. On a scale of 1-5, all participants rated the course as 4 or 5 (most positive). Participants were asked to rate the course for helpfulness in their jobs.

The most helpful features of the training were specified as:

  • “Exercise of identifying and rating a risk – practical application.”

  • "My interest in risk mgmt theory has been sparked – I want more!”

  • “That it catered to our actual work, ie public sector.”

  • “Mitigation = control or treatment – understanding the terms was very useful.”

  • “Risk tolerance and matrix.”

  • “Real world examples used to exemplify.”

The least helpful feature was:

  • “Difficult to cram into one day.”

"Who will benefit from these workshops"?

  • “All public sector staff!”

  • “Too many to mention.”
