Sometimes, clients ask us to
carry out independent,
detailed risk assessments
and report to senior
management or the board. Our
approach is based on AS/NZS
ISO 31000: 2009 Risk
management – Principles and
guidelines but also uses
other relevant risk
identification and risk
analysis tools.
We are often asked for
electronic copy of our risk
assessment form. This can be
downloaded here
in PDF format. Please note
this is the simple version
that has not be calibrated
for any specific
organisation and that does
not enable linking of risks
to objectives. We are happy
to discuss training and
customisation of the form.
Assessments we have carried
out have been very varied
and include:
-
fire
and explosion risks
associated with storage
of aerosols in
warehouses and
distribution centres
-
risks
associated with work on
a remote sub-tropical
island
-
a
specific threat to a key
infrastructural asset
-
insurable risks to gas
and water networks
-
strategic risks in a
business with farming,
viticulture and property
assets.
We often find that a good
qualitative risk analysis
provides adequate data for
business risk management
decisions. However, we can
help if a quantitative risk
assessment is also needed.
We have also developed a
database of global risks and
generic major risks that
takes account of
international risk
assessment reports and that
we use to help inform our
risk assessments.
